Literacy for Life Foundation celebrated the achievement of students with graduation ceremonies held in Tennant Creek, Yarrabah, Coonamble and Mount Druitt in the past month.

“I am incredibly proud of our graduating students and everyone involved,” said Jack Beetson, Executive Director of Literacy for Life Foundation.

The communities came together to mark the completion of community-led literacy training.

Across the four locations more than 30 students were celebrated for developing their skills.

The training takes approximately six months and helps students improve their reading, writing, learning and digital literacy skills.

Since 2012 more than 460 students have completed the training, with all the learning led by local Aboriginal staff.

The Foundation’s work is supported by the NSW and Australian Governments, as well as donations from the public.

Please note: The Foundation’s Tennant Creek Campaign works with men from the Barkly Work Camp. Due to restrictions, no photos of the graduation from earlier this year are currently available to share.
